About
Patricia Johnston

Patricia Johnston fell in love with the musical beauty and majesty of the concert harp at the age of 10 while visiting the Salzedo Harp Colony in Camden Maine. This encounter showed her the ultimate musical direction in her future life as a professional harpist.

By the age of 17, Patricia was Principal Harpist of the K.W. Symphony Orchestra, a position she enjoyed for the next 15 years.

Patricia attended Wilfrid Laurier University on scholarships. She was WLU’s first music graduate to perform on concert harp, and at her graduation recital she was accompanied by the KW Symphony Orchestra.

Since graduation, Patricia has enjoyed a full time career as a professional harpist and has performed extensively throughout Southern Ontario. Conveniently located in Burlington, she has appeared as a soloist as well as at engagements with orchestras, chamber groups, operas, musical theatre, bands and pit orchestras from Toronto to Stratford, from Kitchener to Niagara.

She has appeared with such Marquee performers as Rock Hudson, Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, Melissa Manchester and Juliet Prouse as well as in Toronto with the world premiere of Lord of the Rings.

Patricia has recorded three critically acclaimed CDs that have received broad critical acclaim as well as national exposure on CBC radio.

Patricia Johnston specializes in Weddings, both at the ceremony and the reception. She has provided her personalized and exquisite harp music more than 1,000 times at some of the most romantic and memorable occasions.

Patricia can bring her musical skills and extensive repertoire to your special event.
